An imported crystal tear drop chandelier hangs above the granite top dining table and chairs. The kitchen is quite extraordinary, and must be seen to be appreciated. Imported from Germany, a new product called ‘Parapan’ has been molded and curved to create a stunning one piece cabinet, 18mm thick, with imported ‘raw silk’ granite counter top. The wooden frames and backing to all the cabinets and fitted cupboards throughout the unit are not the usual chipboard or plywood, but are a wood product called LVL (lumber veneer laminate), also imported from Germany, which is as solid as is possible to get, is resistant to water and insects and will hold its shape indefinitely. This is backed by a lifetime guarantee from the developers. ALL the appliances, fixtures and fittings throughout the apartment, as displayed in the Show Apartment, are INCLUDED in the price. The appliances are neither cheap nor sparse and include Siemens and Cata – 4 ring electric induction hob and extractor hood, 17cm fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave, convection oven, espresso maker, toaster, wine cooler, all fitted beautifully into the cabinets - no cluttered counter tops in Ocean’s Edge! There are two LCD television sets hooked up to the latest interactive television system, developed by ETV Interactive from the UK. Through this system and on the TV itself, you may watch movies, listen to 5,000 music scores, different music can be played in each room, browse the internet, send emails, find out local information, view the CCTV cameras and, watch up to 100 channels of international and local television. Siemens smart living system is integrated with all the apartment operations, the lighting, the air-conditioning, the curtains, etc. On your way home to the apartment, telephone ahead to the system and switch on the air-conditioning and arrive to a nicely chilled apartment. Environmental issues have been tackled. Water is provided from two deep wells which have been drilled on site and water from these will be fed to Ocean’s Edge’s own reverse osmosis water treatment plant, giving drinkable water to every tap in the apartment. Waste water is recycled and used for the gardens, as is rain water.
