| BKK11566RM - This well established and highly profitable Bangkok Gem Cutting and Jewellery Manufacturing Company has become available as the 77 year old owner has had health problems and has therefore decided that the time is right to retire and enjoy the fruits of his labour. He is keen to help the new owner during the transition period however, and will give all tuition required. The firm was established 20 years ago, and in that time it has become more and more profitable and well respected, as a valuable and solid client base has gradually been built up. This consists of around 1000 regular retail store customers, 45% of which are in America, 30% in Australia, 15% in Europe and 10% in Japan. The last two years has seen a significant upswing in gross volumes and profitability, and the company can now boast annual receipts of US$633,709 (25,348,000 baht) leading to annual profits of US$210,000 (8,400,000 baht). The owner states that he has started to change the emphasis of the company towards the gem cutting side of the industry recently, as he finds it to be more profitable. Thailand imposes no import or export duty on raw or cut stones, which is why all kinds of precious stones are sent to Thailand for cutting. The company is based in a central city location and runs during office hours, five and a half days a week. Owner financing would be considered, with 50% of the investment amount payable initially, and the balance paid over five years in equal monthly instalments, at eight per cent interest. Monthly rent is 40,000 baht and the payroll is 305,000 baht per month for the 10 workers (including the owner’s salary). The asking price of 54,000,000 baht includes a valuable inventory, worth US$750,000 (30,000,000 baht) at cost, but the business can be acquired without the inventory for 24,000,000 baht, or with a proportion of the inventory at cost price (i.e. the business for 24,000,000 baht plus half the inventory at 15,000,000 baht would cost the new owner 39,000,000 baht).
